Submersible well pumps are more efficient than there brethren of pumps when it comes to pulling water from depths to a great height. There are many uses of the submersible well pumps. It is a hermetically sealed motor and is close coupled to the body of the pump and that makes it water resistant. There are two types of submersible well pumps. The single stage pumps and the multiple stage pumps. Single stage pumps are used for drainage pumping, general industrial pumping sewage pumping etc. While the multiple stage pumps are used for oil wells and water wells.
Since regular pumps cannot be used in liquid as they are not liquid-resistant. If you immerse a regular pump in water or any other fluid, the fluid will enter the body of the pump and will cause short circuit to its machinery. Submersible ones have mechanical seals to prevent the fluid from entering the body, thus making it work under-water or oil.
For using it in oil and water wells, the pump is connected to a pipe and lowered under ground towards the surface of the fluid. It connects to its delivery network and acts an artificial lift to draw out the water or the oil.
These pumps are very much in use in Middle-East where there are wells of oil and everyday oil is being drawn out.
The advantage of these pumps are for preventing the pump cavitations that occur due to the differences in height of the surface to which you want to bring the fluid from the surface where the fluid is present.
The pumps are not only being used for industrial purposes but they also used at homes in everyday life. For pools and ponds in homes, if you want to clean it, you would like to draw the water out and fill it for clean water. The pumps help you in drawing water out from your pool or garden as opposed to the centrifugal or jets.
